The Bight, 2023, an abstract painting by Michelle May for Coast Series, a solo show 2024. This abstract piece was inspired by the reefs around Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands, snorkeling the caves and exploring the underwater environment greatly affected by global warming each year inspired me to take action and share the damage we witness year over year to the coral reefs in the BVI. Painted post Irma, when life was regenerating and I was emotionally moved by the recovery of the islands.
